You need to try and strecth every day, and you will have these in no time!

for toe touches:

do leg lifts. sit in a straddle and put one hand in front and the other in back. raise one leg at a time a few inches from the ground then back down without touching to floor. do about fifteen on each side then try the middle with both legs.

sitting to touch: lay on your back in your straddle and a high v. then at the same time, bring your legs up and your chest up into your toe touch position and come back down. this gives you the feeling of doing a toe touch and will increase height.

butterfly stretch: (you probably know what this is) lol

splits: have a mat or something (I use a suitcase LOL) like a foot off the ground to help stretching

both knees bent: put one foot on top of mat in a ninety degree angle and the other behind you in a ninety degree angle. try to make a mini split with you hips and push on your forward knee with your hands. hold for 30 sec. on each side and keep your hips forward!

one leg straight: have one foot on the mat and one foot behind you in a 90 degree angle. lean back so only your heel is on the mat. try to sit on your back leg a little and touch the mat with your hands. hold for 30 sec. on each side.

both legs straight: stand up with one leg on mat and other behind. the back foot can be turned out if needed (mine always is). try to touch the mat and hold for 30 sec. on each side.

middle splits:

wall sit: sit with your butt against the wall and your back on the floor. put your legs on the wall and go into a straddle. hold for 30 sec.

SPLIT TIME!! :): go into your splits, in between two objects if you need to. try to keep both legs straight and go down farther each time.
for middle split, try to go down as far as you can and put your elbows on the floor.

i really hoped this helped and good luck on tryouts!

What stretches can a I do to get more flexible for cheerleading?

Question by Cheer Girl: What stretches can a I do to get more flexible for cheerleading?
I can do all three of my splits, touch my toes, and put my nose to the floor in a straddle. I’d still like to get more flexible however, to pull things like a bow and arrow and scorpion (I can pull my foot behind my head like a scorpion, but my leg is greatly bent and I would like to make it straight). What stretches should I do?

something that really helped me … ok sit down on your knees(your butt is sitting on your calves),then lay down on the floor(with your calves still where they were before)your legs should be behind your back, or beside you. if it doesnt really stretch then your doing it wrong. hold it for a while (like for two minutes) then try a scorpian(videotaping yourself really works) your scorpian should improve. keep repeating this. i did my scorpian once and it was terrible then i did that drill 3 times(doing a scorpian between each one.) and by the time i did my last one my wrist was the only thing that was bent

Can you do the same stretches for cheerleading and gymnastics?

Question by Amanda: Can you do the same stretches for cheerleading and gymnastics?
Can you do the same stretches for cheerleading and gymnastics or do you have to do different stretches for both? I do gymnastics and I’m going to start a cheerleading squad so I need to know if the stretches I do for gymnastics can be the same for cheerleading.

Answer by allstarcheerrocks
They are basically the same except cheerleading might not have some that gymnastics has and cheer might not have some that gymnastics has. But don’t worry there will be a cheerleader leading the stretches so all you have to do is copy her.

hope i helped!

What are the best stretches to get your toe touch better in cheerleading?

Question by clb b: What are the best stretches to get your toe touch better in cheerleading?
Me and my friend are trying to get our toe touch better in cheerleading, but we don’t know the best stretches for it. Help us? 🙂

Do you have your splits? That would be a big help. Both sides and middle. Another thing the girls do is lay on your back, lift one leg up and have your friend push leg that’s up in the air, toward your face. No bending knees. Push until you feel the stretch. then take a few deep breaths and have them push a little farther. Do the other leg

What are some good stretches for cheerleading stunts?

Question by Jhazzman: What are some good stretches for cheerleading stunts?
I tried out for cheerleading this year and I made it. I wasn’t able to do it and im not sure if the coach will try to get me to do it next year. I want to be ready and be able to do stunts and everything. What are some good daily stretches to get me prepared for the stunts and be able to do the splits?

Answer by MeggieTheMaggot
The more you stretch the more flexible you become I would know because I used to be a cheerleader at first I couldn’t do a split but I got better. Make sure you stretch every single day though so you won’t tense back up like I did.

What stretches should I do for cheerleading?

Question by Sarah Glaesner: What stretches should I do for cheerleading?
Im trying out for cheerleading and I need to know what stretches should I do for the following altogether: High Kicks, Back Bends, Splits, & Herkies.! Need tips fast. Also how can I get a higher score??? There are some people I can see not making it but there are people I know that will so how can I do better than them?

Best answer:

Answer by Heather-Reanaa!!!!
Make sure you at least stretch your shoulders, legs, back, ankles, wrist, and neck. Bigger stretches I would do back bends, splits, high kicks, heel stretches, and scorpions. Then I would practice tumbling, jumps, motions, and flexibility.

touch ur toes.

open ur legs while sitting on the ground and try to reach one fooot. try to do a split.

stand up and put both your arms straight out then take your right leg and try to touch ur foot to your right hand. u can jump a little but be sure to keep your arms in the same place. then do ur left side….does tht make sense?
