Push ups will help you. Try to do 50 a day, but space them out. You also should go running or go on a treadmill. Also if you’re a flier you’re gonna want to stretch your scorpion, and heel stretch.

Definitely enroll in gymnastics. Tumbling will be the key later on, and the sooner you learn how to do a back handspring the more comfortable you will be with it. Also making sure your motions are sharp and quick. Watch yourself in a mirror doing “high V’s.” Watch some cheerleading on ESPN if you can find it or maybe try and find some videos online. Watch them and model yourself after them. Good luck!

What are some cheerleading conditioning exercises?

Question by Jacqui: What are some cheerleading conditioning exercises?
Hi, I’m doing a project for a class where I’ll be teaching cheerleading conditioning exercises. I used to be a cheerleader, and I remember some things we did like tuck jumps and froggies, but I don’t remember everything. I also wanted to do some across-the-floor exercises, but can only remember lunges. If anyone out there could help me, just tell me some of the things you do in your warmup, it would be greatly appreciated!

for our warm up we do the cupid shuffle for the whole song. then stretch, then do strength exercises (push ups, sit ups, legs lifts, squat jumps). then we do skills. first we do jumps, and rotate lines so the coaches can watch everyone do every jump at least once. next we do turns, same process of rotating lines so the coaches can see us. then we do across the floor, kicks (we do one with side and back kicks and one with straight kicks), traveling turns (again, we do a few different types) and cartwheels.
email me if you want to know which stretches we do, or anything like that. (turn/jumps preps)

touch ur toes.

open ur legs while sitting on the ground and try to reach one fooot. try to do a split.

stand up and put both your arms straight out then take your right leg and try to touch ur foot to your right hand. u can jump a little but be sure to keep your arms in the same place. then do ur left side….does tht make sense?

🙂
