Stretch as much as you can in your free time. Splits are expecially helpful to be able to do. If you arnt that good at splits, try doing the m on a flight of stairs. Sit in splits at the top of some stairs but with your front leg bent over the first step. It helped a lot with me!!

i think the best way to become more flexible is to keep working on your splits, mainly your center one (this will help for toe touches and other jumps) what you can do is do a straddle position where you split your legs and try to lean forward and really feel your muscles near your thighs. if you can lean your stomach onto the floor try rolling through your straddle postion. i would also recommend keep working on your splits and stretch them for atleast 5-10 minutes a day (this will really help) another good stretch would be to practice kicks or grab your foot and pull it up as if you were kicking. one of my favorites is i lay on my stomach and bend my knees and bring them closer to my body while trying to push them down into the floor

good luck with everything! =]

I was planning on trying out for cheerleading during basketball season and since im going into it with no experience, i figured it would make sense to get a jump on things. What is the quickest way to make myself flexible? What should I do or not do? Also, if you have any cheerleading tips.. that would be great

My best friend cheered for 10 years and she always got really out of shape during the summer and would spend the last 2 weeks before school started stretching obessedly. She would loosen up in a matter of days. She would mostly just stretch while watching movies. She’d try to sit and touch her toes, lean backwards and touch her toes to her head. She said it was less painful because she was watching tv so she wouldn’t be thinking about it. I think she’s nuts, it always hurt me, but to each their own, right?
