What are some ways to get more flexible for a heel-stretch in cheerleading?

Question by Alanna: What are some ways to get more flexible for a heel-stretch in cheerleading?
I’m a flyer in cheerleading, and I need to become more flexible so I can do a good heel-stretch. What are some stretches that help you get a better heel-stretch?

stretch everyday and eachday make it hurt more and more.
make sure that on your stretch you grab your heel not your toes
try to do the splits- if you can do splits you can do a bow-n-arrow & heel stretch

Good luck! I have some more stretches, and if you’d like to know more, use the email me link off my profile on here(:

touch ur toes.

open ur legs while sitting on the ground and try to reach one fooot. try to do a split.

stand up and put both your arms straight out then take your right leg and try to touch ur foot to your right hand. u can jump a little but be sure to keep your arms in the same place. then do ur left side….does tht make sense?

🙂

Can I become a cheerleader without bieng flexible?

Question by <3: Can I become a cheerleader without bieng flexible?
I am starting a new school in a couple days and I really want to become a cheerleader there. I can not do the splits and have been trying for a long time but I’m not that close. I have been taking dance classes for years and love doing dancing. I’m not that outgoing but if I try I know I can be. Do I qualify to be a cheerleader? Can I be one without bieng flexible? The tryouts would probably be in a week or so.
I don’t think my school does that much tumbling and stuff. I’m pretty sure I need to do the splits and possibly a cartwheel but that’s it. Can I still cheerlead? That’s pretty much all I can do.

Answer by Eliza.
You should definitly be one if you want too.
Try doing some stretches each day.
And each day, do something more difficult.
You could also try and see if your school has Poms.
There’s more danceing involved.
I guess it all depends what school you go too.
My best of luck to you.
