Question by Sunny: How to get in Cheerleader shape?
I am 5’4 and about 125-130 pounds (female) and I really need some HARDCORE exercises to get me into tip top shape!

Time isnt a problem and i am willing to do anything except for tumbling and stunts.
I just want the body not the whole cheerleading thing.
PLEASE HELP!

So you want to look like a cheerleader but you don’t want to be one? Cheerleaders (like all people) come in all shapes and sizes, so you could technically already look like one..

I havent cheered in seriously YEARS. And im wanting to get back into shape. I know dieting to. But what kind of work outs. And I mean Vigourous workouts everyday. Stuff to really work my body

go running everyday.
maybe take up gymnastics?
if you check out the seventeen magazines or
go to seventeen.com
they have tons of work outs there
you can do push ups, lift weights, crunches, etc.

Ok I’m trying out for a college cheerleading squad in 4 weeks, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for getting into the best shape I can for it?
I know it’s short notice and I don’t have much time to prepare, but I want to do everything I can to be in the best shape I can?!
What exercises should I do, and what inparticular should I concentrate on?

well concentrate on your abdomanales and your arms and legs practice moves go through cheers over and over again if you have any friends that are trying out to then practice move and exercise with them

Gymnastics and lots of it! Also lots of cardio and yoga (stretching helps flexibility and yoga helps you conquer fears and feel less pain)

Ok so i’ve never been interested in sports… but as I’ve gotten older & to be in high school I’ve been thinking about becoming a cheerleader.. & I wanna get in shape… im not just fat or anything but I don’t exercise like I should… so how can I get in shape?? (losing lbs. would be nice too- especially through the abs & butt & thighs)
i should probably mention im just 14…im not taking ANY type of pills

Depends. Swimming is a great for sport for getting in shape, do that for an hour each day and you’ll be ready in no time. However, some people don’t feel comfortable enough swimmer to swim laps for that long. Running is good, too, but it doesn’t work your upper body, so add some chest, ab, and arm workouts to your routine.

I’d say the best, but most expensive, option is to get a personal trainer at a fitness center. They’ll be able to teach you routines to help you meet your goals.

I’m 16 years old, and on the varsity cheerleading squad. It’s always been my dream to become a college cheerleader, so I really want to get in shape in the next two years before I graduate.

What kind of stuff should I eat to lose weight quickly? I really need some good tips to lose weight and improve my jumps and tumbling! Help pleasee:)

Hi ummm i dont really know the answer to your question but i woundering since your a cheerleader if maybe you could email me and give me any tips and stuff because i want to be a cheerleader next year for my freshmaan year in highschool. So sorry I dont have your answer but I want to al least make it on to jv cheer squad just as bad as you want to be a collage cheerleader.

Well what i do is a series of things (examples: abs, legs, arms, etc.) But i also have things i do every day( run 3 miles, leg kicks, bike ride 6 miles). So i say make a list of things you need to do for each series or wanna try. I also say join a local gym and look at different activities like yoda and zumba both very fun and very powerful workout
