My daughter’s competitive team had a Chili Dinner. They got the local Steak N Shake to donate all the Chili (thus costing them nothing) and a local grocery store to donate liters of soda. Additionally, each coach and parents of the girls made up baskets of different things for a silent auction. Worked great and raised a lot of $ $ $ . The key is getting things donated (i.e., one local hotel donated a night’s stay in the jacuzzi suite! and one of the parent’s put it in a Mommy & Daddy night out basket – complete with babysitting coupon, etc).

Q&A: Do you think I could be a cheerleader?

Question by Emily H: Do you think I could be a cheerleader?
Im 5’0 and about 102 pounds. Im flexible but I cant do stuff like competitive cheerleading things. I can do a perfect cartwheel that is straight and a round-off. Im afraid that I wont make the team since Im not that flexible. Do you think I weigh to much to be a cheerleader?
And do you know anything I can do to improve my flexibility and do the splits?

Yeah, I think you would make a great cheerleader!!!!!!! It’s awesome how your going for the team. I think you should try out!!!!! To be a cheerleader, you have to want to be a cheerleader. You have to eat right and exercise, have fun, and just believe in yourself. If you don’t make the team. It’s okay. Never give up on being a cheerleader. =)
