Q&A: Whats the difference between cheerleading a religion and living a religion?

Question by semi enlightened: Whats the difference between cheerleading a religion and living a religion?
If we cheerlead the religion, do we really gain anything in life? Wouldnt that be living in a World of fantasy? Can we impartially judge the depths of our beliefs?

Thanks so much for answering. Peace, Love and Blessings!

Religions are man made but Christianity is Jesus created. To be a Christian is to live a life that is Christ like. It is not a religion but a way of life.

Acts 11:26And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

I try to follow Christ. It is not religion,it is living my life as he told me in the bible and as he tells me through the spirit. It is my life. You can support things, but you have to live for Christ. After all-he died for us.His way is always the best way and he wants the best for us.may you find his love-GOD-bless

    You are right.

Promoting a religion and living it are two different things. The second is preferable for the person and everyone else as well.

i don’t know Much about religion..but in spirituality ,there is a great difference between words and walking the walk….my grandmother was a great example of living her spirituality..she never changed her mind or motion one single moment….she is my example now..i hope that someday,my grandchildren look into their own hearts and minds and live in a up right way,the way of my ancestors…

Good question. When you cheerlead a religion so to speak compared to living it, you aren’t very committed. To live a religion is to put your heart and soul into your beliefs and never stop with them. To live your life in a way that you represent your religion. You live the teachings of your religion also. I’m betting the cheerleaders aren’t getting much out of it. 🙂 Hope that you like my answer.

The degree of difficulty is the difference. We cannot impartially judge the depth of our beliefs, but we can discipline our partiality and we can measure our hubris and we can measure our humility.

This comes with daily reflection on how unloving we have been or how much we have missed opportunities to show love. As well as celebrations of the days when we have been loving and have caught and taken an opportunity to love.

We are the hands of God in this world. Our actions are to show his love for all his creatures.

Living a religion is awakening spirituality, cheer leading religion is often bereft of spirituality in us.

No offense but I do not subscribe to any man-made religion. I
DO pray to the Prime Creator directly and we are great friends and when I take my dog for a walk the Prime Creator walks with me. We joke about stuff and I thank him for the awesome stars at night and the moon when it is full, and most of the other time.

I keep God with me … stashed within where HE is safe. I protect Him from everyone and I have His back when HE needs it b/c he has mine when I need it.

The Prime Creator lets ME be the God of my World and He backs me on ALL my decisions b/c I would never do anything to embarrass Him.

    Peace, Love and Light!

    Dear Sir,
The difference between cheerleading a religion and living a religion is as good as saying something and dothing something different. To my mind living a religion is much more worthwhile rather than cheerleading it.

    Dear Friend,

There is no difference between cheer leading or living a “religion.” All religions are man made and they change like the wind.

There is a complete difference between religion and “relationship.” The Word of God teaches us to have a personal relationship with the “living” God, Jesus Christ.

So, I can tell you… I live in a deep intimate relationship with my Redeemer, and I am a spiritual cheerleader for Him. He is the Alpha and Omega and His “character” NEVER changes.

Well, let us think of cheerleaders and players of a game. Who wins the game the cheerleaders or the players? The players of course. The same with religion…Only the players win, the ones living it.

I think if you BELIEVE you are religious then you are. I think cities following a real Armageddon will look like Amsterdam, Holland. We will eat raw fish rubbed with salt water and think about what Jesus Christ did when He visited the Earth the first time and worked with the apostles (Peter, Paul, etc.). I would “live” this belief by living practically (i.e., enjoying sushi!).
