Try posting in a section that cares about High School Cheerleaders. Home schoolers usually don’t try out for High School activities at the local public schools because most areas don’t allow home schoolers to participate.

I’ve been cheering since I was five, and doing competitive cheerleading with my all-star squad since I was nine.
I’ve been having trouble lately with tumbling because of my anxiety problems. But I’m only 5 feet tall and about 105 pounds, and not getting any bigger. So I would be a good flyer.

I live in Katy,Texas (USA) so…What flips should I be able to do? Is flexibility something major, or should I worry less about that? Is the try-out dance hard? ALSO, I had been in both gymnastics and cheer for four years prior to the beginning of sixth grade.

In order to get on JV at my school you have to have a back handspring. For varsity you have to have a back tuck.
Flexability is important, because good jumps definetely get you noticed. I don’t know if your try out dance will be hard, I don’t go to your school.
Just try really had to get noticed, basically.

cheerleading is not football
therefore, you’ll probably get a lot better answers asking this in another section.

It depends on whether you want to be a sideline high school cheerleader or a competitive high school cheerleader.
To be a sideline cheerleader, a toe-touch and other jumps are most likely required. Maybe a back handspring, too.
To be a competitive cheerleader, most everything is required. A lot of tumbling and stunt skills.

i know for a fact hockey cheerleaders exist in high school..my old school had them and i know a couple of schools that do also. you do not cheer on the ice…all i wanna know is if u need to be able to do tricks.
