Question by jay: what do i need to be able to do to be a universtiy of kentucky cheerleader?
I would really like to go to UK for college and I would love it if I got to cheer for UK as well. What tumbling do I need to know to be a Cheerleader for UK. I am a Junior in High School at the moment.

Hi Jay,
Seems to me your best bet is to contact UK and ask.
Phone or e-mail them. Your contact should put you on to the coach or head cheerleader.
If they have certain requirements, ask for a copy of them and I’m sure they will send you one. Go from there.
I would think that your interest in UK would let them know you are serious and they would be most helpful. Kentucky people are very cool. My family is from Kentucky. My aunt lived just around the corner from Murry State.

University of Kentucky 1980 National Cheerleading Championship

The 1980 UK cheerleading squad performed as one of five finalists at the National Cheerleading Championship in Valencia, California (Magic Mountain, just outside Los Angeles). This was the first UK squad to make the finals and were named runners-up that year. Although UK cheerleader, Greg Medley, broke his kneecap the night before, he still competed! Congratulations to the team that started the wonderful competitive tradition. The UK cheerleaders have now won 18 national titles! UK Cheerleading Sponsor: T.
