Here’s two we did at my school. Since I can’t really give you the beat you can make up one:

CHANT
Hey, hey! Check this out!
We’re the best of the best and the best don’t mess
We’re the cool of the cool and the cool don’t fool around
Hey, hey! Check us out!
Yes our team is gonna win
We are gonna win again
Hey, hey! Check St. Matthews out!

CHEER WORDS (I don’t know your mascott so I just used bulldogs as an example.)
If you want to beat the bulldogs, the bulldogs, the bulldogs
If you want to beat the bulldogs, HA, I don’t think so (repeat 3x)

CHANT MOVES
During the entire chant, do sharp side arm claps. Do jumps at the end. You may do toe touches or pikes.

CHEER MOVES
On the first line, push down with your hands and squat to the floor. Jump back up and land in split. On the second line, have two bases lift a flyer on their knees. Have the rest of the cheerleaders stand back to back. Repeat these moves.

Hope I helped! For more, check out YouTube.

what is the difference between a cheerleader chant and a cheer?

Question by coachls: what is the difference between a cheerleader chant and a cheer?
I reluctantly volunteered to coach my daughters little league cheerleading squad. Now I find out that we are going to a competition in september, and I have been given a rule book that we must do 2 chants and 1 cheer in a 3 minute limitation.

what is the difference in a chant and a cheer. could some cheers also be considered a chant?

Should we mesh them all with just claps in between or are they to be separate and distinct of one another.

please please help!

chants are repetitive (ie. crowd lines let’s go team HHS and then repeat) and don’t really have elements other than arm motions, while cheers are usually long and tell a bit of a story (ie. the storm is coming there’s no way out. Hurricane all-stars, the best no doubt) and are usually more complex
