Question by Jenna: I am a cheerleader. Any advice on how to get my legs higher?
I’ve been doing cheering for a few years and am not quite satisfied with my left hurkey and toe touch. Any advice on how to get better height?

Stretch everyday for like 15 minutes and do yoga because they both help you become flexible and strong

    You should try to stretch more. Like sit on the ground and do a straddle (resemblance of a toe touch) and one leg bent and the other one out (resemblance of a hurkey) And you should do wall-sits, which will strengthen your legs and will help you to jump higher. ♥Hope I Helped★

    Stretch against a wall. Pretend there’s like a ballet barre on the wall and stretch like you’re using one. As you get better, raise the bar (so to speak). Pretty soon you’ll be doing splits against the wall.

    Strong legs will give you better height. For flexibility, sit on the ground in your hurkey, grab your foot and lay your stomach flat against your leg. Also, try laying on your back and grabbing your left foot as if you’re doing a heelstretch. Have someone push your left leg against your body. For your toe touches, sit in a straddle and lay your body flat against the ground, or attempt to. Really work on flexibility in your ham strings!

    What really helped me on my jumps was sitting on the floor in a straddle with your hips rotated like you’re in a toe touch, and just bring up your legs up using your hip muscles. You can do one leg at a time or both. Do at least thirty reps every day and you’ll see a lot of improvement. Also, do kicks and get them as high as you can and think of your jumps as just doing high kicks.

    my coach makes us put on ankle weights 5lbs. each. do about 10 jumps each jump every day and you will start seeing improvements,
