take gymnastics and/or dance classes, rent videos, practice at home, then sign up and try out for a cheering squad

strech every morning and night for about 30 minutes…
then you will be flexable, and once you ARE flexable do not stop strenching you will loose you flezability…

go to a cheerleading camp, or gymnastics camp.

well i am an allstar cheerleader so i hope i can help 🙂
flips have to be learned at the gym i cant really teach them online. i suggest you start tumbling classes or something like that.

to do a split , you must work on it every day. before you go to bed, stretch your straddle, left and right splits. If you do them a minute each every day, they will improve greatly.

jumps are just practice. i suggest u go in your backyard and do each jump at least 5 times every day.

but the best possible thing to do is join some kind of team. They have sattelite teams to get started too.

i hope you have fun cheering!!! i love it!

The best thing you can do is find out which gym the cheerleading squad you are wanting to try-out for practices (usually a gymnastics gym) and see if they have a rec cheerleading team. If they do then I would suggest taking it. They can teach you all the basics. If they don’t then take a beginning tumbling class. If they have both, then take both. Any of the coaches at the gym should be able to show you how to do toe-touches as well as other jumps. You could ask which tumbling classes the majority of the squad memebers are in and take that class as well. That way you could get to know some of the girls and ask them to help you build up your skills.

In order to be a cheerleader you need to:
    HAVE GOOD MOTIONS
    be able to tumble
    Have good jumps
    Have an outgoing personality
    Be loud

As far as getting into shape the best thing you can do is run several miles. Most cheerleading practices are pretty demanding on your stamina so you need to be able to keep up.

First, it doesn’t matter how high your jumps are, but whatever you do DON’T bend your back and ALWAYS point your toes!!! And a good way to get your splits (it might sound weird but,) is like when you’re doing homework or reading a book or anything like that, go as far down in the splits as you can and just do whatever you’re doing like that! And at tryouts whatever you do NEVER STOP smiling and making facials! Some really good facials are winking, blowing kisses, or both at the same time. And if you mess up don’t freak out about it! Just smile or do a facial! And whatever you do DON’T CRY! My coach always told me that if you ever cry the judges aren’t going to give you another chance and you won’t make the squad. And as for tumbling you really need to take it at a gym. But, the most important rule is JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!! Well, I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should really just go to a cheerleading gym. Take tumbling classes, stretch classes, and stunt classes. That’s what I have to do, and I’m on an allstar team!
