I dont think they do because I looked up on youtube JV high school cheerleading half time routines and not all of them knew tumbling. Like at the most it was like 2 sometimes some coaches might want it you have to talk to your coach for high school next year.
Good Luck! Hope you make it!

B-team squads do not require them, JV teams sometimes do & Varsity defiantly will. It’s not required most of the time but you’ll have a greater chance of making it if you have one or not being put as a competition alternate.

high school is like middle school cheerleading. jv does not require any kind of tumbling, but it could help. like take this, your tryout scores are the same with another girl, and you can tumble and she can’t. obviously your going to make the team. so I highly recommend you doing open gym, gymnastics, or tumbling classes. 🙂

it depends on what type of squad it is.
if the squad is just a squad that cheers for schoole vents,
then most likely you don’t need a backhand spring.
if it’s a competitive squad that competes,
then you will more than likely need a backhand spring.
if you want to get your backhand spring,
the best thing to do right now is take some tumbling classes in your area.
    hope this helps!
