What skills do I need to be a cheerleader in high school?

Question by Jess: What skills do I need to be a cheerleader in high school?
I used to do gymnastics, so I have some basic things like:
– round off backspring back tuck/layout
– front to back (front tuck walkout, round-off backspring, back tuck)
– aerial cartwheels (no handed cartwheels)
– round-off back tucks
I can do these on the gymnastics floor only, though, maybe sometimes on the grass at school. In cheerleading, do you need to be able to do it on the gym floor?
Oh yeah, and I could probably also get all my splits back.

it depends on what sport you are going to cheer for. if it is football, then probably outside in the grass or rubber track, depending on which your school has. if you are cheering for basketball, then it will probably be on the gym floor. if you are cheering for basket ball, start of with your easiest stunt, and try on mat, grass, wood floor, etc. pace your self. if you dont master all of them on hardwod, that doesnt mean you are not ganna make the squad.
    good luck.
