Question by rinrin: what is the best way to evaluate a male cheerleader durring tryouts? like what should his requirements be?
ok, so im a captian of my squad and we have a male cheerleader, and we have used the same requirements for him that we use for the girls. And I dont think its fair because we have to do our fight song, which he cannot do, but in our bylaws it doesnt say anything about male cheerleaders. So i was just curious to know how we should judge him, and others, durring tryouts.

we should all be judged in tryouts the same, but male cheerleading tryouts are awkward. you shoudn’t go easy on him , but you can’t expect him do do things he won’t be able to do because of his gender.

males going for tryouts are more than likley to have never done cheerleading before so don’t expect them to be great, and also they don’t have a flexible figure like girls do

i would say requirments should be along these lines:

Respectful to other girls on team ( in turn so should girls, if boysget pervy they have to get banned. it is not right for girls to get sexualy abused without knowing t)

have a good skill of dancing

b confident

strong( comps with c/ can be so much better when a boy can do lifts because then you don’t have to have so many girls doing it)
