I want to try out for a competition cheer team so what is the maximum weight do you think a cheerleader should be?

If you can do the cheers, and be competitive, it doesnt matter how much you weigh.

    Such a thing doesn’t exist formally.

    Of course pretty girls with slim and petite figures will have the best advantage and choice on the squad. However, there are girls that are slightly over weight on some squads,.. and if males aren’t present the coach will often recruit at least 2 ‘bigger’ girls for the anchors during maneuvers.

    That said — if you want to be a flyer then the lighter the easier, of course. Something between 90-115lbs would be ideal,.. give or take.

    It is obvious you cannot be 180lbs and be realistically expected to be held up and perform.. but there are plenty of 135-140lbs cheerleaders out there (that aren’t tall).
