www.fitforafeast.com Learn how to do backhandsprings in this back handspring tutorial for dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and tumblers. You must be able to to a handstand first and also a back bridge. Use backhandsprings in your dance routine, gymnastics routine and cheerleeding routines. Mastering a back handspring requires practise. Warmup muscles first, do stretches, master handstands and back bends, back bridges and backwalkovers and then when ready – start slow and use a soft mat and a spotter to avoid injury. Strengthening arms is key to being able to support yourself and avoid hitting your head on the ground. Good luck with your back handsprings! @KalexCullen You can get a lesson from a gym or work with a trainer/spotter. It is best to do the easier stuff first – like the back bridge and the back walkover – they are less scary too.
