Q&A: To Be A Cheerleader do you have to know gymnastics?

Question by suferchick13: To Be A Cheerleader do you have to know gymnastics?
I am about to go into high school and was thinkin about doing cheerleading. I am a very tom-boyish girl but though tit would be cool to do something like this.So are there any cheerleaders out there who can answer my question?

Best answer:

Answer by me
It really depends on your school, so you should ask the coach. However, the more gymnastics you know, the easier it’ll be to make the team. All cheerleading teams want people who know gymnastics. Some will require certain gymnastics skills to make the team. I would suggest that you take a gymnastics class to help you out. Many gymnastics places have a class for cheerleaders or at least a plain tumbling class.
