    normally u would want to
    if u seen the peprallys the cheerleaders normally do that!
    but in tryouts i dont think u haveto (depends on wat u trying out 4 jv or varsity ect)

    Many teams do not require a backflip in order to be on their team. However, the more competitive teams or the travel “only-competition” teams do require it. But if you are unable to do one, it can’t hurt to try out if you can do everything else. Maybe they will see how good you are in other areas and be willing to teach you the backflip or you could take a tumbling class at a local gym.

    depends competitve teams yes spirit no although it does make things more interesting and fun for games and pepralleys
