Question by The Essential: Cheerleading curls for african american hair?
I have a cheer competition this saturday and we are curling our hair, this will be my first time doing this because this is my first year cheerleading. I have african american hair so I’m not exactly sure what to do. I’m planning on straightening it first (since my hair is relaxed if I let it air dry it gets dry and poofy) and then using tons of hairspray and foam rollers…will that work?

Yes, DEF straighten it.
But now the rollers, use plastic.
No hairspray, mousse works better
