Q&A: what are the requirements to be a competitive cheerleader?

Question by becca marie: what are the requirements to be a competitive cheerleader?
i used to cheer like 3 years ago, when i was 12. now im 15 and trying something new, instead of regular cheerleading i’m gonna do competitive. i’m nervous cause i cannot do flips or backhandsprings. i can do jumps but not that great. i can do cartwheels and such. i cant do a split. my friends say there arent try outs because not a lot of girls are interested but i’m still super scared.

help me please.
if you know any requirements,

It really just depends on your schools requirments or whatever team your trying out on.. my highschool team you dont have to be able to tumble or do the spllits or anything like that they base their postitions off of jumps and movements… give it a try and try anything dont be afraid… good luck =)

  1. t-bull cheer

You should take tumbling classes at your local gym to get a back handspring.
Practice your flexibility everyday, trust me you will see improvements within 2 weeks or so.
Go to the gym or lift weights about 2-3 times a week to get stronger.
Go running about once a week to build your endurance.
Don’t be nervous, just try hard, pay attention, and focus.
The main element to become a great competitive cheerleader is DEDICATION.

    Good Luck!
