You don’t necessarily have to be flexible, though I’m a cheerleader and I can do a split, It’s not necessary. If you want to be flexible, look up some youtube vids, they help a LOT.

Im a cheerelade rand I’m a freshman in highschool. I would say yes, I hate the girls who can’t do anything and it’s really dissapointing because I used to be a competitive cheerleader, but considering other people no. It actually depends on the team. If there are a lot of flexiable girls thna yes, if there aren’t then no. But you should always practice your skills no matter what.

Of course. You have to try really hard especially to make it on a high school team because it’s tougher than middle school, and you wouldn’t want to make a fool of yourself in front of your fellow teammates. I would suggest participating in a camp over the summer, it really will help and they have it for all ability levels. Also gymnastics/tumbling classes will help.

    You should definitely try out!
You don’t HAVE to be flexible to be good at cheer, most of the time flexibility will come with doing the sport and the things you have to do at practice.
If you want to become more flexible make sure that before you start stretching WARM UP first, you don’t want to pull a muscle!
Here is some websites that might help with some simple stretches:
