Question by Annoymous: What should i expect at cheerleading tryouts?
My cheerleading tryouts are in April and i’ve been practicing like crazy. I never tried out before so i dont know what to expect. The cheerleaders at my school arent realy that big on stunts so i dont have to be the best at that. Please tell me what tryouts are like?!

Tryouts can be nerve racking, but you just have to relax.
Don’t talk to much to people, concentrate on your motions. Practice movements and stunts any chance you get while you are there. Show up earlier, before the tryouts start. Bring lots of water and a few snacks to get you through. Take deep breathes and RELAX. Give it your all and have fun. Good luck!

As a current cheer coach, first and foremost I would have to tell you to be ready. Know your routine backwards and forwards, and keep your movements sharp.

Be loud, but not shrill….use your diaphragm.

Be enthusiastic and don’t stop smiling. Most of all have a good time.

    Good luck
