Q&A: Should someone who chose to avoid service to be a cheerleader in college call himself the war President?

Question by da.yooper57: Should someone who chose to avoid service to be a cheerleader in college call himself the war President?
GW used three deferments to stay ouT of war when he had his chance to be a warrior.
Then of course when he sent others off to die he puffed up his chest and said “I’M THE WAR PRESIDENT” it is about as true as his “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED”

did you become a pilot in the National Gaurd………mission accomplished..

Clinton must be a war hero then…..?

GW should become the next commissioner of Baseball…his presidency is now old news.

There’s no accounting for people’s opinions when they were youths…Sylvester Stallone refused to go to Vietnam and instead went to coach girls volleyball in Sweden during the war…then turned around in the early 80s to make millions off the war with his Rambo movies…go figure.

At least he had some help when it came to war issues (his father was Navy). What you say isn’t completely the truth either.
Obama knows alot LESS about wars and military…he doesn’t care anyway. At least with bush you could tell that he at least cared about the soldiers fighting!

I see with what you are saying except the part about Mission Accomplished.. How the media latched onto that always bugged me.

The mission of removing Saddam Hussein and taking out the Baath party, and basically sacking Baghdad – was accomplished.

That was a major milestone in the Iraq campaign – I saw nothing wrong with him giving such a speech and using such language.

And while he never saw combat he was in the Air National Guard.
The President doesn’t really need military service anyway – Secretary of Defense, yes.. US President – not so much.

In case you haven’t noticed, he is not the president now. You should be more concerned with current events like what the Washington Mob is doing to the American taxpayers. I’ll bet more people are interested in that than you trying to change history.

    HEY!

Sure he got his deferments for…well it had to have something good, and not because of family connections. And besides, the others are absolutely right–he was a jet pilot in the air guard, defending us against Ho Chi Minh hordes of… Mexicans… except Bush didn’t show up for quite a while… and quit about halfway through his assignment… which is good because he was missing most of the time he was active…

Yes, he should call himself a war President. It’s the rest of us that should call him a coward and a giant pussie.

    HELLO! Bush is gone.

What about the guy who said I’m not going to raise taxes on anyone making less than $ 250K. If he signs this proposed health care bill that is exactly what will happen.

What about the guy that said the public will get to see every bill for 5 days on the internet so they can read it before I sign it. Then signed the stimulus bill in two days. But then Congress didn’t read it before they voted on it anyway.
