well whay i can say is start off with going to some tumbling classes. see where that gets you. you should be able to get a cartwheel, roundoff, and a back handspring no problem. if you have the right coaches you may even get to a back tuck. but as far as motions go. find someone who knows something about cheering or is a cheerleader and have them teach you the basic 7 motions which are high v, low v, t, broken t, candlesticks, daggers, high touchdown, and low touchdown. also have them help you with jumps and techniques on how to improve your jumps. if you cannot go to your schools cheerleading coach. or any cheerleading coach that you can find. they will glady help you. and as for other dancy parts of the cheerleading. find someone who is a dancer (perferably a hip hop dancer) and have them teach you a couple eight counts of a dance to a song. 5-8 would be a good amount cause that is normally how much they put into a cheer routine. is that doesn’t help then i really don’t know what to do for you. but that should pretty much explain everything that you should need to know. oh this one you really need to find a good cheerleader who knows what they are doing. ask them to teach you how to base. they will know what you mean by that if they ae nice enough they will tell you how to do it step by step. then if you want watch some cheerleading competitions on youtube or something like that. that might help you too. but remeber the higher the level the more difficult things in the routine!!! hope that helped!!! 🙂

You can do tumbling drills like handstands and bridges at home, but for the actual tumbling skills you need to takes classes with a qualified coach and spotter. You can work on dancing, jumps, and motions/cheers on your own, though.

There are tips, pictures, and videos for how to do cheering skills at sites like these: http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0geuyhQvulKThwBirdXNyoA?p=cheerleading+basics+for+beginners&fr2=sb-top&fr=ytff1-sunm&sao=1
