Q&A: Can someone explain what it means to be a true Fan of the game ? And a Cheerleader?

Question by Micheal Y: Can someone explain what it means to be a true Fan of the game ? And a Cheerleader?
I think most people are just cheerleaders. Because most people don’t even understand the game of football, they don’t know what a cover two or even know what stunts. A fan of the game knows why a team loses and win. But a Cheerleader just cheers for one team or for a winning team. They know nothing about the game of football. If you don’t know nothing but players name and stats you are just a cheerleader not a fan of the game of Football

Well, to be a cheerleader, you are basicly a bandwaggoner, not knowing what’s going on, but cheer beacuse they are winning.”True” fans are the kind who seriously pay attention to the game, the kind who scream at the TV when their team gets a pass interference call that was completely unessecary.

you definitely answered your own question.
if youre suggesting that girls arent fans (idk if you are, just a hunch) youre being ignorant.

Wow, you feel really strongly about this don’t you? To me, anyone who likes football, be it a “cheerleader” or a “true fan” is cool with me. I’m not gonna go to a game and ask everyone in the stands to recite the entire team roster, first, middle and last names, with jersey numbers, eye color, zodiac signs and pets names, just to prove that they’re real fans. I could care less about them. If you love football then that’s all that matters, don’t concern yourself with other peoples level of commitment to the game, most people are just there to have a good time. And last I checked, they weren’t handing out a prize for the most hardcore fan ever….so relax.
