I can do all of the basics like libs, heel streches, scorpions, scales, arabesques, and i can cradle. But i have never twisted into a cradle. And im kinda scared! Any tips or excersises i could do to help me prepare to full down? Thanks!

Hi! There are many ways to to help you spin, and I found that the most effective was spinning where your arms are doing the dagger motion. It causes your shoulders to twist so therefore moves your whole body! Just try not to elbow your bases!

**Edit: Try Practicing on a large bed, on a trampoline, or in a pool! Its 80 percent confidence, so If you build enough to believe you can do it, you probably can 🙂

Ride the cradle up to the highest point. When you spin bring your arms from the high V and pull your arms across your body so your right fist is across your body in the front of you. Your left hand should be right behind your body on your left side, and look over your left shoulder. It helps you spin faster. Try practicing on a bed or a trampoline. If you have a mat that is thick enough try using that to. You can stand on a slightly raised surface and act like you are in a stunt and land on mat in a cradle position after you have twisted. That’s what my coach had me do when I learned when I first started cheer and it really helped. Just make sure you stay tight.
After you do it once, its not so scary, so try not to stress about it too much.

Practice this on a trampoline or a bed first!!! Not in the pool because if you over or under rotate you might hurt yourself in the pool! When they call cradle just ride it to the top and then pull your arms down to the left to rotate then just cradle like normal. It’s really easy once you get it. I hope I helped!!
