ask your coach if there are any tumbling requirments, and even if there arent tumbling can incerase your chances of making it. i suggest taking tumbling classes or cheer classes. just cause you can do those things doesnt nessacarily mean you can cheer, but with work you can.

you need to make your jumps good. the correct form is back straight, legs straight, toes pointed, and jump of the ground hard to get your legs high. pretend like your sitting into it it, rolling your hips forward so that your knees face behind you. keep your arms in a T motion all the way through and land lightly on your toes. stretch everyday, and i mean EVERYDAY!! work on your splits, and do high kicks on each side and try calf raises (stand on your tip toes, lower back down, and do it again) to build leg muscle need for jumping and stunting.

for cheers and chants, you need a loud, stroung voice. dont yell at the top of your lungs, but use your stomach and ennouciate the words. you will also need sharp tight motions. hit everyone one hard, and your muscles should hurt your making them so sharp and snap into place.

and most importantly, spirit!!! always keep a smile on your face during the whole tryout! when you come in, if you can tumble, do that but if not say spirits like – lets go rams (your mascot) go big blue (your colors). after finishing a cheer or chant spirit. spirit out of your tryout. spirit after your jumps.

just work on those things and hopefully by your tryouts you will be prepared!! if you have a friend on the team or is a cheerleader, ask her if you guys can practice together so she can give you tips. good luck!

eventually u might wanna learn how to do tumbling w, out a trampoline cuz it’s not going to be there when u r out on the field, court, or at a competition… u sound pretty flexible from gymnastics

req.: ask any present cheerleaders or the coach if u need tumbling if u do end up needing it take a class

work out plans : stretch, lift 5 lb. weights? cuz u need strength for ur motions, jumps, and when stunting, running/walking

meal plan: fruits, veg, sweets every now and then try to stay fit

As long as you are fully commited to the team.

Belive it or not, cheerleading requires a lot of commitment, trustworthy, teamwork,
    and team spirit.

as long as you are willing to try and be your best you can be a good cheerleader.
