How do I train for cheerleading?

Question by Frannie J.: How do I train for cheerleading?
I have middle school cheerleading tryouts in 2 months and I need to be able to do the splits and certain tumbling (cartwheel, round-off, back handspring, back tuck). I have the other stuff easily down. Now how do I train for these other skills? (I am going to start cheer classes on monday… f.y.i.) Please Help.

Defiantly go to tumbling classes! Once you get the hang of it you can do round-offs and cartwheels at home. Keep practicing those. For the splits stretch every day. while watching t.v. or doing homework just sit in a straddle and stretch. Sit in the splits and you will eventually get them!
    Good Luck!!

TUMBLING! private lessons twice a week.
i took me two months to get my back handspring alone, so you probably wont get your back tuck in two months. because you have to learn your back handspring and then round off handspring then round off double handspring then tucks.

ok. besides going to tumbling classes,
it would also be best to condition everyday.
sit ups, push ups, tricep dips, etc…
also, work ur jumps; toe touches, pikes,
    hurkies, hurdlers.
as for your splits, slide into them as far as you can
go and hold them for a minute without supporting
    your weight.
when doing motions, practice in front of the mirror.
make sure you are tight and sharp.
when you cheer, use ur diaphragm. good luck.
