some one asked why doesn’t Baseball have them my answer is this
Because this is not some Football or Basketball , and Honestly if they were Cheerleaders, that would be sad were becoming like other sports and the Ball would Probably hit them, and Baseball is a game of Concentration, if Baseball ever got them that would be funny as heck .

Baseball doesn’t need distractions… the game is pretty classy and i think it would be quite disrespectful if you brought cheerleaders or dancing girls in games. It seems like they’ll just get in the way.

Why would I want Baseball to be like Football and Basketball. In my opinion, the reason why they have cheerleaders in those sports is because they are simply trying to get more fans for that sport that way. Baseball doesn’t need cheerleaders or any extra additions to the game to gain more fans for the sport.
If fans at the games, many of whom have played the game, are unable to keep track of bats and foul balls going their way I’d hate to think what could happen to a cheerleader doing a gymnastics routine on top of the dugout in heels. I’m sure she’d be eye candy – but it would be a bit distracting for both players and fans. Because seriously – I don’t see where else they could their “thing” and who pays attention to what goes on there anyway unless you’re one of the priviledged few with good tickets?
HA! They shouldn’t be in Football or Basketball, either. Recently, my son asked what the purpose was of cheerleaders in pro football. His father answered, “There isn’t one.”

NO, the thought is just ridiculous. I would be distracted by the hope that the ball would hit them. Cheerleaders do not belong in baseball.

i don’t think they’re really nessesary. i think team mascots are way cooler than cheerleaders.
i went to a jays game before and they had cheerleaders dance on top of the dug outs but not that many times.
baseball is too boring to have cheerleaders, only the marlins do to try to get more than 1000 people to come to games, they alternate between cheerleaders and fat guys

No, they’d stand in front of you and shout and distract your attention if you were unlucky enough to sit in the section where they are cheering. I want to watch the game, not some obnoxious women shouting “Go, who rah rah” There is no cheerleading in a game like baseball. Baseball is not about frills, it is about the game, plain and simple. Baseball doesn’t need them.
