What do I need to be a high school Cheerleader?

Question by Abbey: What do I need to be a high school Cheerleader?
I am 5’5″ tall and 113lbs. I can do a left split but the other two are still pretty far away. I can also do a good round off, and i am working on a back handspring. i have a good front and side hurdler jumps. But I cant do a toe touch yet. So I was just wondering what I need to be able to do, and what position you think I would be in.

you need to be ditsy, sleep around, dress like a slut, cake on the makeup, be really vain, and care only about increasing your popularity. As a bonus, you could bleach your hair

First off, don’t listen to the stereotyping idiot. Now to get to the point:
For the position I think you would be in, it sounds like you might be a nice flyer. If you don’t know, flyers are the girls (or boys) at the top of the stunt. They are generally more lightweight so it is easier to lift them. However, just because you are smaller doesn’t particularly mean you will get to be a flyer. If the couch is any good, he/she will base what position you get in your skill in that position. I am a flyer, yet I am one of the tallest people on my squad.
If you have good arm strength, then you could be a base (the people who hold the flyers feet). And, if neither one of those positions is right for you, there is always the backspot (the person in the back of the stunt helping the flyer and bases, basically).
Now, on to your tumbling skills: thats great that your roundoff is good! Roundoffs are essential to a LOT of tumbling skills. to make most varsity teams, though, you need to have AT LEAST your standing back handspring to make the team.
Kudos for having your front and side hurdlers! As for the toe touch, practice makes perfect! However, you will need to have a good toe touch to make both Junior varsity or Varsity.
Are you taking any tumbling and cheer classes? If not, those will help a LOT!
If you do your absolute best and get your toe touch, I’m betting that you could make JV (Junior Varsity). If you get better, you could even make Varsity!
    Good luck!

im a cheer leader and you need your basic jumps front right left hurdlers toe touch and a pike and a combo, and for your toe touch you don’t need to touch your toes keep a fist with your t.to increase your height do your splits often and stretch until it hurt.also with your arm motion keep your arms so tight that if some one came over and shook them they wont move, also be loud and smile if you think your smiling big smile bigger and since your going to be smiling a lot keep your teeth in good condition and were a violet red gloss to bring out your smile and if you do competitive cheer practice facials like winks.and let me tell you keep your hair out of your face if we have our hair in our face we get yelled at.and since your about my height you would be a base.i hope these tips are helpful because for me cheer is LIFE. p.s. good luck
