Question by Roxy60000: What basic skills does one need for JV cheerleading?
I have about 5-6 months until my High School cheerleading tryouts start, and I was wondering what basic jumps, tumbles, stunts one needs to know AT LEAST. I know once you are on the team they teach you mroe stuff, but I need to know the basics to see how ready I am.
Thankyou 🙂

a good cartwheel and roundoff, and upper body strength so you can learn a back hand spring and back tuck, and so you can hold up other girls at the base.
What do you think? Answer below!

You need to be really good at lying on your back with your legs in the air.
start now, go to tumbling classes. a simpple backhandspring will help you more than anything. also stretch everynight becuase good flexibility and jumps are also important. practice motions in the mirror, and make your motions tight!~
im on the JV squad and you need to kno how to do a clean cartwheel and a round off and a back hand spring.
for the stunts if your a flyer practice getting your body tiet in the air and if your the base make sure you use your legs to get the flyer up and for back base you have to grab flyer’s angle as tiet as you can and help the bases lifting up.
junps are toe touch, right and left hurdlers and right and left hurkies
You should check on Google.com and look for Cheer gyms in you area. They teach the basics of Cheer-leading and help you get ready for tryouts. Trust me I asked a question like this not too long ago.
And for the people with immature answers, grow up and get a life. Good luck with tryouts!!!
