Question by Desired P: What qualifies a cheerleading team to be considered “all-star”? ?
What is the definition of an “all-star” cheerleading team? Are there different levels? Is there some sort of qualification system that is universally used? Thank You.

Yes there are different levels of all star cheerleading. Although its mostly just age levels. Basically all stars do not ‘cheer’ like a highschool cheerleading team cheers. They stunt alot, dance, and tumble a lot. Also the do not have restrictions in all stars as to what you can and can not do during stunts and tumbling, like a high school cheerleading team would have. Highschool cheerleading has rules and regulations set up by the state that you must follow during stunting and tumbling.

All-star cheerleaders don’t cheer for a school; they’re strictly competition. They have different levels, starting at one and I don’t know how high up it goes. Competitions are usually put on by organizations (an example is Jamfest) and aren’t regulated by the state, so there’s usually no universal standard/scoring scale/whatever. The biggest competition is probably worlds (I don’t think schools have a world competition, just nationals).

    What is All Star Cheerleading?

All-Star teams are made up of members from various schools or the same school with the primary focus on performance and competition. These members may or may not be cheerleaders at their schools. All-Star squads, generally, do not cheer for any particular organized sport.

There are different levels based on tumbling skill and stunting ability. then again by age. There are levels 1-5 and then college levels too.

    Example:

Level 1: Bridges, handstands, bridge kick over, forward and backward rolls, Back And front walkover, cartwheels, round off

Level 2 : backwalk over, Back handsprings; standing and running, (multiple)

Level 3 : Tucks; standing and running, combination of all elements
