Q&A: I am afraid that my mom will say no to competitive cheerleading?

Question by Tay tay: I am afraid that my mom will say no to competitive cheerleading?
I always since I was a little girl i wanted to do competitive cheerleading and i dont know how to ask my mom.

Best answer:

Answer by cheer is power!
my parents are so proud of me for doing competitive cheerleading. infact, today my dad is wearing a shirt from one of the competitions…

the point is that you’re mom will probably be really excited. look up the gyms in your area that have comp squads. pull up prices and reviews from online. it is kinda expensive though. prepare.

show her how ready and responcible you are for it. start off with school cheerleading or cheer camps if you have to. the reason she’ll say no is because A.) she thinks you’ll quit B.) she thinks its too expensive/busy C.) she thinks its too dangerous

if she says no, don’t give up. try to raise the money yourself by doing extra chores or baby sitting.

Well, it’s like playing the lottery: you can’t win if you don’t play! Your mom’s not going to let you do competitive cheer if you don’t ask! So give it a shot. Just tell her that you’re really, really interested in it and want to give it a try.

And keep on asking. If you’ve never brought it up before, she might think it’s just a crazy idea you’ve suddenly come up with, and that you won’t be interested a couple months from now (after she’s paid for lessons and uniforms and such). So show her that’s you’re really serous about this. Keep on talking about it, and show her it’s not just a passing whim.
