well, wrong section. but.
be able to do all the cheer jumps.
-herkie (left and right)
-toe touch
-pike
-hurdler (left and right)
and then tuck’s, spread eagle’s, and table tops aren’t really important so.
And… you have to be extremely sharp.
And just continue with tumbling, because that will be important.
Here’s a little guide that will help you out if you have questions.

oh yeah, and you migth want to work on flexibility. You might have to be a flyer. in that case look up heel stretches, scales, arabesque’s and bow and arrows and practice them on the ground so you can do them in the air.
good luck

p.s. remember to ALWAYS smile when doing anything cheerleading related!

you need to work out and drink a lot of water and eat healthy
stay lean n stay in shape
try out and see if you make it

    how about cheering…making up cheers?
cheerleading isn’t all about the gymnastics part…its about school spirit and cheering your team on no matter what

I don’t want to be rude or anything.
But cheerleading is just ridiculous and a bit pointless in my opinion.
I don’t know if you think people will respect you more or something, but people don’t in my school. There’s only 3 cheerleaders in my grade and nobody really cares…
I think you should do gymnastics. (:

    a toe touch first.
you definitely need to be able to hold or bench press all of your body weight if you want to be a flyer.
If you become a base your going to need strong legs.

Grow you hair out past your shoulders its a requirement to have your hair up at competitions, I cut my hair before try outs and my coach was pisssed.

Practice in the mirror holding your arms in a “high V” and make sure you are flexing all your muscles, you won’t make it if you have sloppy “V’s” they have to be crisps motions.

you could also youtube some practice cheers and you could just practice the arm motions.
