Question by Sierra H: How to get perfect cheerleading jumps?
so long story short, my jumps suck. all of them. how can i perfect them? i know i need to jump higher, but how? i need advice! also, any other cheerleading hints and tips on getting flexable or how to’s will help me a lot! pleasee and thank you!

get on a bigg trampoline and practiceeeee…like duhhhh…lol….a bigg one thoo , i dont want anyone getting hurt

    practice your jups on the ground. If you do splits, practice splits, hurkey, practice it. It makes you more flexible and you will be able to jump. Remember, jump of the front of your foot, not the back.

    yes u need to practice but you need to also stretch really good ! and you need to biuld up your leg mussle so you can jump higher ! you can practice on the trampoline but dont get used to it because you wont have a bouncy floor at the games ! i hoped i helped !

    buy ankle weights. start out with 2 or 3 pounds, then increase to 5 pounds. go no higher than 5 pounds, unless you want a groin injury. or you can use a flexy leg bands that help resistance when you jump. i used both of those and i have amazing jumps, if i say so myself =)

    Oh This Is Such A Common QUestion . Im A Cheerleader And My Jumps are Still Not Even Close To Perfect. But Im Working On Them And With These Excersises Im Seeing Results! So What You Can Do Is Sit On The Floor. Legs OUt IN Straddle. Put One Arm In Front OF You ANd The Other IN The Back. Lift Your Legs Up For Thirty Seconds Each. IT Hurts BUt It Works! The Other Thing You Can Do Is Jog Every Other Or Every Day! Make Sure You Take Lots OF Water And Eat Good Healthy Foods And Just Stretch stretch Stretch! Thats Really All YOu Can Do! The More You Do it The Better Your Going To Get! . Mountain Climbers Are Amazing! Try Those For About Two Minutes. HOpe This Helped ;]

    do leg lifts you sit on the floor in a straddle and put your hands in front of you and lift up one of you legs at a time kinda like your doing a toe touch but with one leg and then do the other leg and the hardest is both legs!
    my team did this and all of us have awesome jumps and it helps alot with flexibility!!!

    When I first started cheer, this was one of my biggest problems and they almost kicked me off the squad(Now I’m captain LOLZ!).Here are some tips on higher jumps:
    1. The straighter you keep your ENTIRE body, the easier it is to be high in the air. One of the most common reasons people can not jump high enough is that they are unstable and they need to practice on being erect.
    2. Bend your legs before a jump. Don’t just lift off of your feet. Bend your knees and quickly(I mean VERY quickly!!!) jump up
    3. Hold your breath going up and exhale going down
    4. Before you do jumps, practice he move you jump with
