Is it hard to switch from gymnastics to cheerleading?

Question by tots and fries: Is it hard to switch from gymnastics to cheerleading?
I recently quit gymnastics ” i was a level 7″

i have a back full on floor standing

do you think it would be that difficult to switch to cheerleading?

Not at all, in fact, it’s better that you did gymnastics first.

    no, exept cheerleaders have no springs in there floors, it’s just a mat, so it might not be as easy to do your full without the spring that you get from the floor.

    No its a piece of cake. i think you should go for it because so far you have all the basics for cheer.

    I dont think it would be very difficult for you to gain the cheerleading skills. The only thing I have heard is that it is hard to learn how to tumble with tennis shoes on!

    i think it you would have an advantage for tumbling and jumps. if its allstar you still get the spring floor but high school just a mat

    It won’t be hard at all. The two tricky parts gymnasts have to get used to is how stiff and snappy cheer moves are, and the jumps which are a little bit different. (For example some gymnast have trouble flipping their hips under for their toe touches or opening their legs up to do a front hurdler instead of a wolf jump.)

    I am sure you will be fabulous, though. :^)
