Cheerleading is MAd fun, even if your not the flyer. I’ve been cheerleading for 7 years on a town squad, and the coaches always tell me i’m too tall to fly, even though i’monly 5’2 , and 79 pounds. Once your on the team, and start training for compitions, the coaches will start asking for more flexible people. They are just doing it for now, they will most likely change though during comp. season. Good luck! πŸ™‚

There’s no point in being a cheerleader if you’re not a flier? Um, that’s a slap in the face to the rest of the cheerleaders who probably specialize in tumbling, basing or jumping. Be happy that you’re on the team and work your way up to the spot of being a flier again.

Your coach will more than likely realize that you are a good flier later on down the line, anyway. Right now, don’t worry about it.

I wasnt a flyer until high school cause at first i was too scared to try it and then because there were other girls, though bigger and truthfully not as talented as me, who were already doing it and thus were treated special.

Once i hit high school they realized that i had skill and now i am on varsity cheer as a flyer (freshmen year and goin into spohmore), and a flyer on a smei-pro team!

Basically what im saying is keep in there prove your dedication and work ethic, good attitude/spirit etc and keep working on your talents and get even more. they will realize that yous gots skilllzzzz πŸ˜‰

Good luck… ps the other parts are just as important and just as fun!

to be honest jr. high cheerleading ussally sucks! if your doing it s you can put it on your college transcripsts go ahead but to be honest if you do all-star cheerleading you will learn a lot more skills and could become a flyer. Anyways all-star tunts aremore difficlt than school stunts. Your flexabiityand rythem will help you and trst me standing on the sidlineson football games are no fun half th time your freezing and no one even pays attention to you…..it’s a wast of tie and wont befun do all-stars if anyhting because that also look good on a college transcript as well.

Yes its still fun. I was never a flyer and I still loved it. It was so much fun being the back spot in my opinion because it takes so much responsibility.

trust me the same thing happened to me. it will still be fun, then again think of it this way… not only do you have the ability to fly but also the ability to be a part of a stunt group too. each person in a stunt is very important and don’t think that you are less of a cheerleader because your spot got moved. also, don’t let it show that you are mad. go to practice and act as if nothing effected you, it will show your coaches that no matter what happens you come back to practice with a smile on your face and willing to work which will make you look better πŸ™‚

YESSSS !!!!! i am a main base and have been for like 8 years . it’s still fun . and you don’t have all the stress of “sticking your butthip out” or falling or hurting yourself by falling and a lot of flyers have trust issues because they are afraid their bases will drop them .

I know what you mean. I flew but my coach doesn’t like me flying so I got moved down as a front spot and I’m the most flexible too and all of the flyers aren’t.
However, I digress. Flying is a lot of work and I personally think that flyers have a lot of pressure to deal with when performing because everyone is looking and counting on you to hit the stunt.
Cheerleading will be fun for you if you think positive about.
If you put everything into negative terms, it won’t be as fun because all you’re doing is complaining.
Overall, cheerleading will be fun if you make it.
    Just think positive.
I wish you the best of luck πŸ˜€
