How hard is cheerleading, and is it fun?

Question by Lottie: How hard is cheerleading, and is it fun?
I want to try out for the junior varsity cheerleading team for the winter, but I’ve never cheered before. I danced for about 4-5 years, but I’m worried that I’m too tall (5ft 8) to be a cheerleader, though I’m pretty light (106 lbs). Would it be hard to get on the team for someone tall, and is cheerleading fun?

Because of your height, you will most likely be a back spot. Cheerleading can be really fun as long as your coach is yelling at you do something 10,000 times (lol you better get used to that). It`s hard work preparing for competition, perfecting and hitting all your stunts, sticking your tumbling. It`s also about devotion, don`t miss a pratice unless you absolutely have to. Good luck trying out and dont forget to smile.

Well, I’m no cheerleader, but your height won’t realllllly matter, but you’ll most likeley be a base or something.
You could be a tumbler though too I guess. Tumbling is fun ♥
anyway, I hear it’s fun if you’re good enough to do advanced stuff.
    I don’t think you’d be a flyer though. I hear they’re like only 85-90 lbs haha
I dunno though, this is all that I hear from my friend who was a varsity cheerleader (not JV)

The truth is yes cheerleading is hard. But if you have compassion for cheerleading like me you can look past the pain. You need to get conditioned and stretched out also look into tumbling coaches in your area.

cheerleading is really fun, i love it. it can be hard sometimes like when you are stunting. size isnt a factor in tryouts its only a factor in your stunt group
