do i have what it takes to be a cheerleader?

Question by brianna17: do i have what it takes to be a cheerleader?
i know that cheer is similar to gymnastics, and trust me i’m not good at neither. im afraid of heights, so i know i won’t be a flyer probably. i don’t know how to do any tumbling, handstand, or even CARTWHEEL! =/ i don’t know what to do. i want to get a coach or something, like the “made coaches” from mtv, but in queens (my borough) , you’ll find nothing. i’m also trying to make my highschool have cheerleading part of our school, with fundraising, and making ppl sign a petition. i’m trying so hard, im even planning to show my research to the guyidance councelor or principal. i don’t know what to do nd even if we do get cheer, how will i make the squad if i don’t know anything myself?

Hey, at least you know the terms! Flyer, Cartwheel, Handstands-good cheer vocab;) Oh, lemme introduce myself-I’m a cheerleader!! It’s lotsa fun, but if you don’t have confidence…how are you gonna make the squad?!? You gotta believe in yourself! And stop focusing on what you don’t know how to do and focus on what you can learn-you’ll get it…I did! And I made varsity at my school(the first freshman to ever do so at my school) without knowing how to do a cartwheel simply because I know how to wear my fun-loving can-do attitude on my sleeves…give it a try and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish!

You need to believe in yourself so you can lead others to believe in your cheers. Focus on the positive. You can do it. Ready? Ohhh Kaaaa 🙂

I,m a Cheerleader, and if you really want to be a Cheerleader, I think you should Follow your Dreams, I Don’t think yuo should let anything stop you! I suggest looking online maybe you’ll find a Coach. If not, you could try to find some local ‘Cheer/Tumble’ places. Good luck!

Like they said, learning how to do a cartwheel is going to help. Get a friend to help you and if they can’t get a coach. Don’t fight for a squad unless you are POSITIVE that you can make the team.
