Do I have a chance at making JV junior varsity cheerleading team?

Question by Amazinqq_Jayy: Do I have a chance at making JV junior varsity cheerleading team?
Cheerleading tryouts are in about three-four weeks. I was wondering if I have a chance of making the junior varsity squad. I am a junior in high school and I am very skinny but not very flexible, so I’m going to be stretching a lot before tryouts. I can’t do the splits yet but I’m determined to learn how though. I really want to make the team but i don’t know if I’ll be able to… Do you have any tips or advice for me?

Keep stretching! Do your splits everyday and just push yourself and eventually you will be to the ground!
Practice cheering too! Look up some cheerleading stuff on youtube and practice the cheers.
When you try out just be confident and positive and A L W A Y S smile! That’s the most important thing! Even if you mess up just keep smiling!
& make sure your motions for the cheers are tight and sharp not sloppy! So just make sure your squeezing your arms when you cheer! Like your flexing!
Goood luck(:

if you’re a junior, you’re not jv, you’re varsity. and all you have to do is stretch a LOT and practice jumps (toe touch, right herky, left herky, pike…). you should also work out a lot cuz if you’re planning on being a base or backspot, you will need to be strong. good luck(:

since you’re not really flexible, you should stretch at least 3 times a day, and work on gaining muscle for upper and lower body. you can’t be a jv cheerleader when you’re a junior, you can only make varsity. splits aren’t really needed in cheerleading, so don’t expect to use them. they only help with flexibility. since you can only be varsity, you need to work on tumbling. to make varsity, you will probably need a standing tuck. taking classes at least 2 times a week should help you get those skills. also, work on all your jumps (toe touches, pikes, herkies, and hurdlers. just be confident in your skills and you should be fine.

Oh Well if your not flexible ! Cheer leading is about sharp movements, and excitement ! I would definitely say you have a chance since you cheered before. Stretch, do motions, & work on toe touches !
