Where is a good place to take cheerleading?

Question by Miranda C: Where is a good place to take cheerleading?
I used to take gymnastics, but now I’m too old for it and decided that cheerleading was the next best thing.
I like around Boston, MA and was wondering if anyone knew of a place to cheer around there.
Thanks!

Hey there! haha ok first off youre never too old… Im 40 and i still instruct and currently cheer… youre only too old if you wann be too old… youre best bet would be to search out an open team or an all star team that would have you on. if none of those are good just take classes and work on your skills.. its a great way to keep in shape:) good luck in your search!:)

A few suggestions that may be worth checking out…

Full Out Cheer Academy in Watertown
    -They have an open team

StarTyme All Stars Training Center in Sterling
    -Open team here too

East Elite All Star Gym in Tewksbury
-Two open teams (all girl and coed)

Full House All Stars in West Bridgewater
-I’m not 100% but I think they have/had an open squad

If you’re a gymnast you probably don’t need tumbling classes but all of these gyms offer lots of classes for different levels of experience as well as private lessons and open gym for those who want to participate. If you need practice stunting there are classes at each place that are open to everyone whether or not you are on a team and clinics and camps are always being offered at one place or another.

My knowledge of all star gyms in and around the Boston area is pretty limited so hopefully this will at least provide a starting point. If none of the above appeal to you there are no doubt several other cheer gyms in the area. Your old gym and gymnastics coaches can probably direct you to the best programs since the cheer teams are often affiliated with a gymnastics facility.
