just let people think what they want to think, but it really is a sport. It is very atheletic and we practice hard. No need to be all defensive, my fellow cheerleaders 🙂
I think cheerleading becomes a sport when you enter a competition. if you are cheerleading through school you are leading cheers. hense the word cheerleading.

THATS WHAT THEY THINK ALL STAR CHEERLEADING IS ABOUT BUT SCHOOL CHEER ISNT A SPORT BUT ALL STAR IS! people always say we are just perky girls in short skirts with pom poms! but guess what WE ARE NOT! comepetitive cheerleading is a sport i would know i am a all star cheerleader we lift girls in the air 20 ft above our heads and they have to trust us to catch them! we have to tumble stunt jump and dance all in 2 minutes and 30 seconds!
heressome facts on how cheerleading is a sport cause you have no idea if what your talking about!
-we dont just dance! we stunt, tumble which is part of gymnastics, and dance a LITTLE!
-we have practice 8 and a half or more hours at the least
-we go across the country for a competition!-
-what stunt you did was what a 5 year old cheerleader does!

i grew up playing football,baseball,and wrestling and always thought less of cheerleaders.I have since eaten my words seeing how hard my 11 year old daughter practices and competes on her squad.Their practices rival if not surpass any practices i had at that age with the three sports i did.Cheerleading is most definantly a sport and the people who think otherwise probably have never witnessed the practices and competitions that all cheerleaders go through

wen u said that to b considered a sport the last thing u said was they have to have compition as there primary goal well there r allstar teams wich is where they cheer for an entire yr and only do compition and they dont cheer for another team so compition is there primary goal so yes it is a sport one of the most dangerouse to people can die ( im not kidding)

OMG, School cheering and competitive cheer is diffrent, competivte gots practices, compation, uniforms, School cheering is just pathidic girls who run around shaking poms poms saying “YA GO TEAM” COMPETIVIVE CHEER IS A SPORT!!!!!

@NaTuRaLxFrag Correction, your comment is sheer ignorant. I already posted what makes a sport and why / how Competitive Cheerleading falls under being one. A sport is an organized, competitive, and skillful physical activity requiring commitment and fair play. There’s a difference when you’re just having fun and being physically active, personally. As, they train and are kept physically active, compared to a one or two time thing.
@iCraacked then your sayign playing video games and having snowball fights are sports? Seriously, calling cheerleading a sport is sheer ignorance, You can’t say to your friends when your board “Hey guys, lets go outside and have a nice cheer competition!”. Its just another way of entertaining an audiance who is watching an actual sport….Kind of like sportscasters…
