Save My Daughter PART 2

An estimated 30 million Americans suffer from an eating disorder, and anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Family members of victims often suffer the consequences of the disease as well. Are there early warning signs to watch out for? What can you do if you suspect a loved one is anorexic or bulimic?

@lillm2010 She did at one time weigh 72 pounds. For people who are calling her fat are clearly ignorant. She also has bulimia, and her cheeks could appear puffy from vomiting.

@pregnantsilence Dude I almost laughed at a funeral; I just can’t deal with crying in front of people. Everyone expressed sadness strangely under stress, lol, so yeah I know where you are coming from!

The parents should have put a stop to it as soon as they saw she was losing to much weight when she was still in school so they still legally had control. They shouldn’t have allowed her to continue with any extracuricular activities or competive activities which she felt she needed to be thin.

5:33 look at that. what’s sad is that looking on the outside between the two of them, you can tell sheri has and ED and is sick, but the reality is, someone shannon’s size or bigger can definately have an ED. that’s why people with ED’s don’t get help, they think “sick”=extremely skinny *in their eyes* and when you have an ED, your eyes fool you and make you think you are never too skinny.

this should be a good reason to dissuade people from becoming bulimic: look at her face, and look at her sister’s face. hers is swollen because of all the vomiting she does. even if her body is thin, her face will always be bloated like that, whereas her sister who isn’t bulimic has a normal-looking face. so what’s the point in making yourself throw up to stay thin if you’re gonna still have a fat face?

moms have really got to think about putting their daughters into ballet, pagents gymnastics… is it worth it?

“You want to get in there as early as you can…” Man, Dr.Phil is zen amazing. I never could have figured that out, before I watched this I thought it’d be great to just wait until the person is dead to talk to them… = I’ve seen too many different people go through eds in different ways. Yeah there are similar warning signs, but just because someone is concious about what they eat that doesn’t mean they need an intervention.

This is one of the big problems I have with the American healthcare system. My dad is an alcoholic, and he checked himself into rehab last year. After 30 days, they told him his treatment was done and he had to leave. One hour later, he was drinking again. Her family could tell she wasn’t ready to come home from the treatment center, but I guarantee you those doctors were pushing her out the door. It’s no wonder she keeps relapsing and throwing up. Poor thing. I wish her the best.

Right at the beginning, is that her rib cage? I looks odd cause it just sticks out but I cannont see the individual bones in her cage…I’m not hating, I just wanted to know if anyone else thought her stomache shape looked “odd” (duh I know she has an ED)

Don’t put a face on an eating disorder. Someone who is normal weight can still have an eating disorder just as bad as someone who is underweight.

This is the reason most people won’t get help. The mentality that “I’m not thin/sick enough”

  14. alwaysUmpteen

Eating disorders are NOT about food and weight. If you can’t eat because your jaw hurts you don’t have to worry about developing an eating disorder.

It’s a psychological disorder that has to do with depression and anxiety and control issues and body image problems. It’s not just “I don’t want to/can’t eat.”

just loosing alot of weight doesnt or wont make u anorexic , fear of food and gaining weight and control will , their kinda never happy with how thin they are so hopefully u dont have any body image problems
