Q&A: What do you think. Do parents want their children to get involved in cheerleading or gymnastics more.?

Question by XoXoMiSsTwInKlEsXoXo: What do you think. Do parents want their children to get involved in cheerleading or gymnastics more.?
I’m writing a paper for class. My teacher is big into girl sports. Example: cheerleading and gymnastics. For girls, what do you think their mom would prefer them to get involved in more.I personally thing gymnastics, since it’s a little harder to get them involved in cheerleading in a younger age, they usually start with gymnastics. But I want to hear you’re opinion.

Thanks!

Probably gymnastics.. You can earn scholarships more easily for gymnastics than you could for cheerleading. Plus, gymnastics seem to be a lot less full of drama than cheerleading. Gymnastics girls are very focused and determined, whereas cheerleaders don’t seem to be as driven. I think training in a gymnastics facility will instill better values in girls than if they were training at an allstar cheerleading gym. Hope this helps!

I think gymnastics is the winner here. Cheerleading has a stong stigma with its name. Cheerleaders are viewed as slutty and stupid quite often, even though this is rarely the case. Gymnastics teaches serious discipline and the rewards of hard work. Gymnasts are often given scholarships and can get all the way to Olympics. Cheerleaders can go to elite competitions, but they are not as highly regarded.
