Question by Jfizzle: Should I take gymnastics or tumbling classes if I want to tryout for cheerleading?
I’m in middle school and I want to tryout for cheerleading next year. My mom is going to let me take a class at our local gymnastics center but I don’t know if I should take a tumbling class or gymnastics class.

if youre only interested in cheerleading, you should take tumbling (only floor)

if youre interested in gymnastics as well, you should take gymnastics (floor, vault, beam, bars)

Yes! You defiantly should! It helps build stamina and is even greater to tell when your trying out.

The only bad thing is, it’s expensive. It’s almost $ 3,000 dollars to get in, plus buying a uniform.

If you don’t know how to tumble. Tumbling definitely. Tumbling will help you out all through school, High school, and even College. That’s what teams are looking for, these days.

Tumbling class. While gymnastics class includes practicing tumbling skills on the floor, the other events don’t do a lot to prepare you for cheering except in terms of conditioning or perhaps helping you develop a sense of balance. (You’ll note All-star cheer gyms offer tumbling classes rather than gymnastics classes to their cheer athletes.)

    Good luck. :^)
