Question by jessica: Is it true that you’re not allowed to have your belly button pierced when your a cheerleader?
Me and my friend are planning to join a cheerleading squad in September.

But the only problem is that i have my belly button pierced. Is that allowed in cheerleading?

My little sister cheers and she has one. Just take it out whenever in uniform and they dont have to know!

    Yeah your not supposed to my coach gets really pissed when someone shows up with a belly peircing but no problem
    just take out the belly ring and you can cheer its a health hazard to them so they want you not to have one =]

    You have to take it out when you do anything. If your coach is leniant, she may let you keep it in during practice but during games, and competitions etc. you have to take it out.

    anyways i cheer and the girls that have belly rings just take them out while in uniform
    its not really a big deal though

    Depending on who you cheer for, check with the people who run the squad, see if it matters to them. I personally don’t know, I cheer but I don’t know anyone with a bellybutton ring.

    Well no. But my coach does not get mad cause the oldest girl on my team is 13 and the youngest is 12. But i know in competitive it is a big no no i think it is 20 points off.

    I cheer and I have mine pierced. I just take it out for competitions and games. A lot of girls on my all star team have it too, just if it gets caught on something when you are stunting or hurt piercings they dont want to hear about it.

    but if youre piercing is already healed (as in you can and have already changed it and stuff and its okay) then all you should have to do is take it out for cheerleading.

    you can even put a retainer in it in case youre worried about it closing. theyre like little clear plastic barbells that are used when people need to take their piercing jewlery out (for medical reasons, or anything else) but they dont want the hole to close.

    u can have the peircing but when u r cheering u should take it off especially if ur doing stunts

    Yeah , it’s not allowed during practice , any of the games , or competitions .
    You can’t have ANY type of jewelry !
