i think you are talking about a lib? A lib is a one legged stunt, “lib” is short for “liberty”. Anyways, usually it is best in competitions to do it on the normal leg if everyone else is. But, certain routines will have their girls flying on the other leg, or they might do a tick-tock to the other leg…etc. And in many pyramids, one of the flyers flies on the opposite leg. So, although it is not common, there are some opportunities to do it.
As for advice, I’d say just keep trying the lib on the normal leg. It is really useful and promising when you can do a lib on both legs, but the normal one is definitely preferred. I know how you feel, because I wish I could fly on the other leg too. My flexibility is really good on my right leg, but not as good on my left, so I always have trouble with heelstretches and such.

good luck!

I’m guessing you’re talking about a lib. For competitions usually they’re on the same leg because it looks better when everyone’s matching. You usually get more points for having stunts that look clean and stunts usually look cleaner when they’re done on the same legs. I’m left handed and stunt on my left leg too. It’s a hassle to have to learn how to change to your right leg but if you want to be on the competition team and help your team win then you’ll just have to get use to your right leg. It’s one of the compromises you make by being left dominant flyer. (:

do you mean lib? because a limb is like an arm or a leg.
generally a routine is choerographed to look even, this usually involves all the girls flying libs on the same leg, though libs on the other leg or tick tocks can be choerographed in if the flyers are more flexible on one leg for a certain body position or for pyramids. though it generally looks better in a whole team stunt sequence for everyone to fly the same leg, because if you did body positions it would look a little strange. talk to your coach and see if she can work it in somewhere.

I learned on my left, do heel stretches, scales and all other elite libs on my left side. When I got to college, I had to learn right side. I do right side now when we are doing a bunch of libs, but coach usually uses me when she needs a left lib, like for pyramids or clusters of stunts. Its a good skill to have to be able to do both sides. In the cheer world, right side is the default lib, but being able to do a left side is an extra skill that can come in handy.
