No you are not too old. Several of my friends started at this age. Cheerleading is not my sport but if you like it go for it. Work hard and have fun

no, you’re never too old to become a cheerleader. just practice and stretch everyday and join a cheerleading class.

Heck no! I’m 13 too, and I just started in September, I already have back handspring, round off back handspring, double back handspring, and my coach says I’m one of the teams best bases (don’t want to sound cocky! But I’m trying to show you that you’re never to old to start cheer!) GO FOR IT 🙂

    nope! its the perfect age!
start picking up routines online and get your splits down.
then go to aa summer camp this year so you can try out for your school team!

no way!!! join a team, a tumbling class, maybe a dance or yoga class to stretch properly. have fun and good luck!!!!

Nope, it’s not too late depending on two things:

    1) Does your school team not require back handsprings or other skills that you lack?

    and

    2) Is there a Rec or All-star team in your area that takes beginners?

And even if it’s too late or too difficult to make the school team now, if you work hard for a year or two you might make it in the future. :^) So find out what skills are needed (like tumbling, which you would need to take classes for) and get busy.

This site has articles, pictures, and videos of skills and exercises that you can work on: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/basics.htm (Again, save the flipping tumbling for the gymnastics center. But you can certainly work on handstands and bridges at home every day.)

    Good luck! :^)
