Dance might help with your flexibility, which is key in cheer! In cheer we do dance, sidelines, conditioning stunts, tumbling, and motions!

  1. Pinky!

    1. Does your school have any requirements?
My school was to show all your skills (tumbling/ jumps) and to learn choreography.
    2. What kind of tumbling should you know?
A round off back handspring might come in handy but you may be asked to do a back handspring without a round off. So start working on that. Also just work on all of your basic tumbling, front and back round offs (not as commonly used but may come in handy), back and front flips, back and front handsprings, cartwheels, and even a trick of your own.
    3. Prepare for choreography.
Your coaches are looking for you to be able to pick up choreography fast. So take dance classes probably jazz and hip hop. Try to concentrate in class pick up choreography really fast, if you keep practicing picking up things will get easier.
    4. What to wear to auditions.
Bloomies/ booty shorts, with soffe shorts over and a t shirt you can tuck in. Try to wear them in school colors it will show your spirit. For shoes just wear normal tennis shoes, or you can wear acro/ gym shoes. Hair up and out of your face. Maybe a ribbon too? NO JEWELRY
    5. What classes should I take?
Acro/Gymnastics to prepare for the tumbling aspect. And dance (jazz and hip hop) to help the dancing aspect.
    6. Day before auditions.
Make sure you have all your stuff for cheer and put it in your bag. Rest your voice try to only speak when needed, no shouting. Rest your muscles, so stretch! Also try taking a nice hot bath to relax you.
    7. Day of auditions.
Big smile! Big voice! and get a nice attitude coaches are also looking for that. Give it your all!

just do your best, & show that your very confident and strong.
its all they can ask for, and if you do your best and dont get in just
remember that you tried your best and thats all that matters
